A dangerous choice

A few weeks ago I began reading Persepolis. This graphic novel shows war from a little girl's point of view. The book starts of by describing a high class iranian family, they have a relvolutionary way of thinking.

The photo above is a page which really caught my attention because it shows the really dangerous effects that can be caused by an euphoric decision. Here, Marjane's mother, attends a protest, a really dangerous one.

War changes everything, like i said in my past blog entry, human lifes devaluate while ordinary things increase ttheir value. Besides this, no one has rights, no freedom of speech, nothing. In all the page above, we can see a violation of the 19th human right: FREEDOM to say what you want, when YOU want to.

Marjane's mom can't act or speak freely, the fear of death causes her to change her appearance, she can no longer be recognized. War striped her from her identity.
