TECHNOLOGY IN GOING DOWNHILL
Toy Story, an opinion based article written by Bill Keller, sates that the production of new inventions since the 1980's has decayed. New "inventions" of today include Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram and other internet pages. Any how, these inventions have a problem: copyright.
I agree to Keller in this statement. Since the 1980's, inventions have fallen not only in quality but in production and innovation. Before, inventions were so bright, that inventions today seem useless.
Another problem, according to Bill, the internet. He states, its harder to obtain intellectual property rights. Furthermore, this creates a narrowing in the advantage of the innovator. He also explains, how many inventions are created today in U.S.A but are manufactured in China, so producing the inventions in America is practically impossible. Anyhow, not everything in the article is pessimist, he also refers to America as an "excellent incubator of new things: a welcome mat for talented, ambitious immigrants".
In my opinion, I do believe that this is a problem, America might be an "excellent incubator of ambitious immigrants" but what happens with the American citizens? Why are the majority of inventions in the United Stated made by immigrants rather than American citizens? I personally think that this isn't a wise dependency to create because several immigrants would rather create inventions for their country, not a foreign one. So, if america is dependent and do not have as much citizen inventors, the decay in inventions will be grater than what it al ready is.
